Archbishop Thomas Wenski called attention to the victims of Cuba’s
Fidel Castro in a statement on the death of the Cuban dictator.
“We will all be judged one day,” the archbishop said in response to
the news of Castro’s death. “Today it is his turn. God’s judgment is
merciful, but it doesn’t cease to be just.”
Archbishop Wenski encouraged the many Cuban exiles living in Miami to
“invoke the patroness of Cuba, the Virgin of Charity, calling for peace
in Cuba and its people.”
