Victorian inquiry deadline extended

Inquiry deadline delayedVictoria's parliamentary inquiry into the handling of child abuse by religious and other organisations has been given extra time to finalise its report.

The inquiry had been due to hand down its report by September 30 but that has been pushed back until November 15, reports AAP on Yahoo7.

Victorian Parliamentary committee chair, Georgie Crozier, said deliberations were progressing well, but the committee had sought additional information and some matters continued to be analysed.

'We are acutely aware of how important this inquiry is for victims and that they are awaiting our report with anticipation,' Ms Crozier said in a statement yesterday.
