Firm refuses to print invites to gay wedding for second time

Beulah Print last year hit headlines when it declined an order from Jonathon Brennan for his civil partnership ceremony.

Despite the fallout, the Drogheda firm has again refused to print invitations for a woman who is getting married.

She took to Facebook and said: "Went into a wedding shop to get invitations done, so excited going in! I was giving details to the guy and then he soon realised I was gay. He said sorry you can't get invitations done here as I have my own beliefs. WOW. I thought this country had moved on from that."

Yesterday, co-owner Noel Tuite confirmed that a woman had called into the office and asked about printing the wedding invites.

"It is true. We declined to print the invitations," said Mr Tuite.

Asked was the refusal based on religious grounds, he said: "We are Christians. It was on grounds of our faith."
