Enclosed nuns pen book of recession prayers

NUNS IN one of the most enclosed orders have produced a book of prayer aimed at helping people during the recession.

The Poor Clares have released a book of prayer to help people through modern day problems.

The order in Galway have penned the book titled Calm the Soul: A book of simple wisdom and prayer.

“Our life revolves around prayer and a large part of this is intercession for those who come to us or write to us for prayers and also, for the wider world,” said mother abbess Sr Colette.

The sisters recite prayers seven times each day and rise for an hour every night at midnight to pray for special intentions.

“This section of the book was inspired by our awareness of what burdens people today,” added Sr Colette.
