Dublin 'Camino' Pilgrim Walk launched

Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin has joined with his Church of Ireland counterpart, Archbishop Michael Jackson to officially launch the Dublin "Camino" Pilgrim Walk.

The Pilgrim Walk, which runs until Saturday 16 June, involves visiting and praying in seven city centre churches, and begins after an ecumenical liturgy at St Ann's Church in Dawson Street.

It is being organised as part of the celebrations for the International Eucharistic Congress, which begins on 10 June.

The churches taking part in the walk will be open from 8am to 8pm, with mass at 5.45pm each day St Mary's Pro-Cathedral.

Pilgrims will be given a "Pilgrim Passport" that will be stamped in each of the churches.

The seven churches participating are St Ann's, Dawson Street, St James, James Street, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Whitefriar Street, John's Lane, Thomas Street, St Mary of the Angels, Church Street, St Michans, Halston Street, and St Mary's Pro Cathedral, Marlborough Street.
